Treating the patient, not the disease is my professional philosophy. That includes the need to build relationships with patients and their families. I think it’s important to include both patients and family members in discussions about treatment options to make sure we are all doing what is best for that individual. To me, it’s all about helping people and easing their way on whatever journey they are on. I worked in OB/GYN for two years and most recently in GYN/Oncology, bringing lots of experience caring for women of all ages. On a personal level, I am a horse lover and grew up riding and showing horses. This is what piqued my interest in medicine; I originally wanted to be a veterinarian. I could chat with someone about horses for hours. A mother to two little girls, I enjoy spending family time with my daughters and husband, whether it’s at the lake or just relaxing in our backyard.
