The Department of Community Programs operates under the government of Shawano County, Wis. It provides a range of services for individuals with mental health, alcohol and drug abuse problems. The department serves individuals with various developmental disabilities, including mental retardation, cerebral palsy, brain trauma and epilepsy. The Department of Community Programs offers a variety of case management and service coordination, inpatient and outpatient treatment, emergency mental health, crisis intervention, outreach, information and referral, educational and financial services. It also provides therapy and services to developmentally disabled adults and children. In addition, the Department of Community Programs provides counseling, housing, guardianship, and medication and prescription monitoring services.
