Founded in 1897 and located in Lake Villa, Ill., Allendale Association is a private, nonprofit social service agency, serving children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disabilities. The center offers various community-based programs, including an outpatient counseling center, foster care licensing, training and support, independent living and transition support, and mentoring services. It also provides a full continuum of educational services, offering classes from grades kindergarten through12. Allendale Association s facility houses the Elizabeth Morse Special Education School, the Bradley Counseling Center and intensive residential treatment programs for children of ages 7- to 18-years. The association serves more than 700 children, youth, and families annually. The center is licensed and approved by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and is a member of American Psychological Association and National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children.

Established in 1978, the Community Youth Network is a nonprofit counseling center. It serves the mental health care needs of individuals, couples and families in Lake, Cook, Kenosha and McHenry counties in Illinois and southern Wisconsin. The center provides children, individual, couple and family therapies and trauma assessment services for physical and sexual abuse victims. It also offers Christian counseling and case and anger management services. Additionally, the Community Youth Network provides play therapy and outreach-based youth counseling services, as well as professional and community education and training programs. It employs licensed psychotherapists, social workers, volunteers and counselors. The Community Youth Network is located in Grayslake, Ill.

Milwaukee Urban League's programs operated out of the Abraham Lincoln House at 904 W. Vine Street. Community social center was developed. Industrial Relations Project established to improve job opportunities and working conditions through relationships with the business establishments. Publication 'Operation Model Affiliate Design', a comprehensive revision of MUL programs to meet community needs was published. Programs expanded and included: an apprentice program, minority business development program, teen parenting prevention initiatives, on the job placement and training, and a research department was established. New programs included: Men who Cook, after school homework assistance program, male adolescent responsibility project, older workers program, and job ride program. The first Black and White Ball was held in 1986, replacing the traditional annual dinner, the Milwaukee Urban League's main fundraising event. MUL identified four specific objectives that have been the basis of each successive Ball: 2001 opened the Academy of Business and Economics ( MULABE ), with 580 students ; largest elementary school in Milwaukee and only known school with major focus on business and economics in elementary grades. 2000 - Released "State of Black Milwaukee" and the "State of Black Milwaukee Through the Eyes of Children". In 2002, worked in conjunction with African American elected officials, took leadership role in coordinating the efforts of several community organizations who worked to improve conditions in the Midtown Neighborhood where Charles Young, Jr. was tragically beaten to death.
