The Gypsy Moth Suppression Program will involve the application of Foray, a bacterial insecticide containing Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki (Btk), via a low-flying airplane in designated treatment blocks. Btk is a naturally occurring strain of soil bacteria that is safe for people, animals, and insects other than caterpillars. Landowners and residents within the proposed treatment blocks have the option to request the exclusion of their properties from the program.
