Bay Engineering, formerly known as R.A. Stearn, is a full-service naval architecture, marine engineering and design firm. Bay has designed a wide variety of vessels, including articulated tug and barge, auto and passenger ferries, buoy tenders, container and casino vessels, deck barges, dredges, ice breakers, passenger excursion vessels and school ships. The firm has also designed self-unloading cement carriers, self-unloading dry bulk carriers, split hull dump vessels and tank vessels. It offers an array of products and services to the maritime community, such as transportation analysis, feasibility studies, concept, preliminary, detail and mechanical design, contract plans and specifications and construction supervision and cost estimation. Additionally, Bay offers shipyard bid and proposal support, conversion and repowering design, marine litigation support, owner plan approvals and NC part programming and nesting.
