We publish quality music with interest, charm and challenge for musical growth and expression for school/church musicians as well as folks interested in discriminating Czechoslovak culture. ALLIANCE PUBLICATIONS, INC lists over 1, 000 compositions involving over 200 composers in its catalog. API has 3 focuses: the publication of educational / professional music, liturgical music, and Czechoslovak classical and folk music and recordings. API distributes to retailers and wholesalers in the USA and the Czech Republic, retails by direct mail and exhibits at various music conventions across America. Music gleaned from Czech and Slovak musical treasures by 90 Czechoslovak composers to be enjoyed by the world community of musicians. Currently 56 living Czech composers work with us. We provide diverse offerings with other cultures in addition to general titles for school, church and professional performances. Other specialities are 35 Wisconsin composers as well as a hearty host of women composers. Refer to our catalogs for more information. CZECH MUSIC ALLIANCE Czech Music Alliance is the professional organization of Anita Smisek, OP and Joel Blahnik. Established in New Prague, Minnesota in 1987, the duo, both 3rd generation Czech/Americans, have conducted presentations at various universities, state/national conventions, schools, churches and religious institutions across America and Europe.

Julien's Journal

Julien's Journal has served the Dubuque area since 1976. It is published by J. D. Communications, Inc, David Wm. Rusk, president. Julien's Journal has long been recognized for making a special contribution to the high quality of life in the Dubuque area. Readers and advertisers alike appreciate the uniqueness of such a publication in a population area of its size. Julien's Journal includes thematic feature articles that cover a wide range of topics dealing with Dubuque area people, events, civic organizations and institutions, business, personal health and education, arts and recreation, history and issues of interest. Julien's Journal has a total readership conservatively estimated at over 40, 000 each month. Circulation also includes the distribution of complimentary in-room copies for area hotels, motels and bed and breakfast inns. The magazine enjoys a traditional presence in the lobbies and waiting rooms of professional offices and clinics, beauty and barber shops, and other high traffic sites in the area. Additional copies are distributed in special promotions occuring throughout the year. Advertisers receive the magazine at their place of business. Julien's Journal has traditionally appealed first and foremost to the adult middle and upper income reader, whether male or female, resident or visitor. A broadened circulation pattern in recent years has brought with it increased readership across the entire spectrum of age and income levels. Julien's Journal has long been an appealing medium for area advertisers. Many firms that purchased space in the very first issue ( February 1976 ) are still doing so today.
