1st Century Preparatory School

In operation for more than five years, 21st Century Preparatory School serves more than 450 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school s building area covers an area of over 50,000 square feet and is equipped with advanced wireless computer technology. It also maintains a piano keyboard lab. The school is established under a charter from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and serves the residents of Racine in Wisconsin. It utilizes the Houghton Mifflin Reading system, which is a research-based reading program that focuses on the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension and writing. The school offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including theater and musical concerts. It operates a parent-teacher organization that organizes fundraisers for supporting various school activities.
