Marion County Senior Citizens was founded in 1962 by a group of concerned citizens following the 1961 White House Conference on Aging. For the first 15 years, the group served as a social club where the elderly participated in quilting, ceramics and potlucks, however, by 1975 the group had established a number of health and social services programs.
