Founded in 1996, Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia is a cultural center that features a retail store, art gallery, meeting space, theater, food court and working studios. The center organizes dance and storytelling performances. It serves more than 500,000 visitors annually. The center offers dining services in partnership with The Greenbrier. Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia also sells decanters, wood-carved tables, pottery vases, baskets, canned preserves and spices. The center operates the Tamarack Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that supports programs for the artists, performers and food producers of West Virginia. In addition, it conducts jurying for books and recordings. The center operates the Tamarack Conference Center, which is an over 12,000-square-foot facility that hosts business, meeting and private occasions.
