History

Sneed's is a family owned business starting with Charles (Pop) & Minnie Sneed. Pop started off as a door to door vacuum sales man for the Hoover company & got to the point were he could fix just about any of them. Hoover pulled out of WV many years ago & took their repair centers with them. It was at this time that Pop purchased the rights to be a Hoover certified repair shop for one whole dollar. He opened his shop on Lee St in downtown Charleston & went to work. He did well & once his son Charles (Buddy) Sneed came home from the Navy, he too went to work with his dad. The Hoover company eventually came back &purchased the right back from Pop who made a good turn around on his investment. The store has moved once since those early days & Pop & Minnie have both passed on, but we're still here & still doing honest, quality work. Pop prided himself with integrity & his son Buddy holds to still We are a small family business but you become a part of our family once you step thru the doors

We service and sell both vacuum cleaners and Sewing Machines. We are a certified Bernina dealer and a Power Wheels warranty station. We carry thread, fabric and many other sewing and quilting supplies. We offer a variety of sewing classes throughout the year. we stock all types of hard to find vacuum bags and belts as well as other small parts.
