Shady Oaks Farm

History

We originally started out as a ginseng farm growing root to be sold as dried root. Long about the third year we began raising ginseng to be sold as transplant stock. We then moved into goldenseal and eventually into other native plants. After 5 years we decided to start the blueberry farm and now have about 1500 bushes in the field along with a nursery where we grow blueberry bushes from cuttings and market the young bushes to customers who would like to start their own. We offer 7 different varieties of bushes. Three years ago we began our newest project which is growing daffodils and iris. We will begin offering these for sale in 2012.

Specialties

At Shady Oaks Farm we offer ready pick and upick blueberries as well as blueberry nursery stock. We also have wild simulated ginseng and goldenseal as well as other native plants. We offer ginseng seeds as well as 1, 2, and 3 year rootlets for transplants.
