Massey Energy Company and its subsidiaries serve more than 125 utilities, industrial and metallurgical units around the world. It is one of the largest producers of central Appalachian coal, and its labs perform a wide variety of coal analysis and quality control tests. The company is also one of the largest suppliers of highly volatile coking coals in the United States and Canadian metallurgical markets. It delivers coal by barge from loading facilities on the Kanawha, Ohio and Tennessee rivers, and supplies its export customers through Gulf Coast ports and coal terminals at Norfolk and Newport News, Va.
