The New Haven & Community Volunteer Fire Department, incorporated in October 1948, is dedicated to serving a population of approximately 6200 citizens in New Haven, Hartford, and the surrounding unincorporated areas of Letart. With a team of 38 firefighters, including command staff officers and administrative officers, they provide essential fire protection services to the community.
Equipped with a range of apparatus, including structural firefighting engines, a tanker, a rescue engine, a personnel carrier, a brush truck, and a rescue boat, the NHFD is well-prepared to handle various emergency situations, from structural fires and vehicle accidents to brush fires and water rescues.
