Mon Health Cancer Center

History

Mon Health Medical Center, the cornerstone of Mon Health System, traces its roots back to the first hospital in Monongalia County in the early 1900s, and was officially established by an act of the Monongalia County Court in April 1943. Mon Health Medical Center has been located at 1200 J.D. Anderson Drive in Morgantown, WV, since October 1977. The hospital has a strong commitment to providing personalized care and service with compassion and respect to North Central West Virginia and the surrounding region. This commitment is seen in the long tenure of employees, many of whom have served 30, 35, 40 and more years. The more than 200 physicians with privileges at the hospital also have a long history of dedication to the community and hospital, with a wide range of specialties ranging from Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Oncology and Orthopedics to Obstetrics/Gynecology, Ophthalmology and Plastic Surgery.
