SpecialtiesAmy M. Jean, M.D., a member of Wheeling Hospital's Center for Pediatrics, is the only pediatric endocrinologist between Pittsburgh and Columbus and just one of three in West Virginia. Her practice primarily focuses on the care of children from infancy up to 18 years of age with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Her prior research interests and expertise focused on the prevention and treatment of obesity and its co-morbidities, such as insulin resistance or pre-diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, premature adrenarche and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Jean also treats children with short stature, early and late puberty, congenital hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's hypothyroidism, Grave's disease or hyperthyroidism, congenital adrenal hyperplasia and hypoglycemia.
