Cathedral State Park is the state’s largest old-growth forest and contains one of the largest stands of virgin hemlock in West Virginia. Designated a National Natural Landmark, this 133-acre park offers sanctuary for these ancient trees, as well as 170 species of trees, ferns and wildflowers. During spring and summer, Cathedral State Park offers excellent hiking on its three miles of trails and unique photography opportunities. This park does not offer overnight accommodations within the park.

Super nice trails. Small park but beautiful trees. Get a trail map as some trails have signs from only one direction.

Someone from my friends church recommended this place to them because they knew they loved to hike with me so my friend told me about it and we planned a trip to the area to see what it was like....

Great FREE Park but very small. Tony and I arrived Saturday May 18th, small parking lot but Free!! We arrived early in the morning about 8am and it was all still wet with dew and fresh rain...

Definitely my favorite state park to walk not to big not too small close to home and bonus Melanie's is across the street when I'm finished to get a good meal!
