Dr. Safyan is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.Dr. Safyan is a native of Los Angeles, California, who moved to Pittsburgh in 1987. She received a Bachelor of Science from UCLA, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, with highest honors in biochemistry. During her undergraduate years, she received the University of California's prestigious Regents Scholarship. While at the UCLA School of Medicine she was named The Graduate Woman of the Year, was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society, and was again awarded the University of California Regents Scholarship.Following her graduation from medical school in 1981, she completed an internship in internal medicine and a dermatology residency at UCLA. Dr, Safyan has been in practice for over 25 years.
