Woodland Park Zoo, located in Seattle, promotes conservation of wildlife and their habitats. The zoo is spread over an area of more than 90 acres. It has more than 1,000 animals that represent over 300 species. Woodland Park Zoo features more than 30 groups of arthropods, fish and Partula snails. The zoo provides a home for a wide range of endangered and threatened animal species. Its botanical collection includes more than 7,000 trees and 50,000 shrubs and herbs representing over 1,000 species. The zoo has more than 35,000 member households that support animal care operations, exhibit improvements, worldwide conservation projects and education programs. It organizes a variety of educational and entertainment programs for visitors.
