Washington Academy of Music is a great place to learn a musical instrument. The instructors are all top notch, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

History
Washington Academy of Music was founded by Rick Cox upon his retirement from the U.S. Navy Music Program where he served as a staff guitarist for 24 years. Starting with 10 guitar students, some of whom are still on the school's roster, the school has grown steadily and now has an active roster of over 200 student musicians.
Specialties
We offer innovative music programs for the novice beginner, the week-end hobbyist, the serious amateur, or the college or conservatory bound student who has professional aspirations. We also offer programs specifically designed to prepare students for adjudication examinations associated with the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program and we are proud to be an official regional testing center.
