History

US Taekwondo Academy was founded in 1996 in Bellingham, WA by Grandmaster Uoon Choi. Since then, Grandmaster Choi has trained instructors and masters who now operate studios ranging from Ferndale down to Bellevue. USTA staff share a common goal of improving every community they teach in by helping each and every student gain confidence and improved health, leading to life success.

These programs are proven to increase focus, self-control and school performance, and the kids have fun doing it! We specialize in the Korean martial art of self-defense known as Taekwondo. Taekwondo is a martial art emphasizing kicking, which makes both for a powerful method of self-defense and a great workout.
