History

My name is Robin McGee, and if I would have known back in 2006 what I know now, maybe my grandmothers illness of Alzheimer's wouldn't have been in such decline. Having used the pharmaceutical drugs for Alzheimer's the side effects for grandma were unbearable. Swollen lips, aggressive behavior, and an upset stomach were enough to take her completely off these drugs and let grandma have a pharmaceutical drug free quality of life. Coming from the heart of Texas, she {grandma} was the best baker I knew. I can vividly recall my grandmother having a dining table full of cakes, sweet potato pies, pecan pies, and teacakes for every holiday and days in between the holidays when I was a little girl. Following a few favorite recipes from grandma (see Our Roots page), along with a few of our own ideas, and of course the added cannabis, The Oven Mitt is created to bring a southern flavor to the taste buds of Washington's cannabis community. We take pride in being the first cannabis bakery to introduce a menu of mini pies; perfect size for one person. Our 'Southern Chocolate Pecan Pies' made with Wild Turkey Bourbon 101 and a splash of vodka led the way into the hearts of medicinal clinics around Puget Sound. With the Southern Sweet Potato Pie arriving thereafter; these two pies led the way to a 10 item menu thus far.
