The Swedish Club's roots started in the downtown Seattle area as a place for Swedes to gather. Our current location, in South Lake Union, is a place for all people to enjoy our mid century architecture, million dollar view and learn about our rich Scandinavian history and culture. The Swedish Club has grown from modest beginnings to become a prominent presence in the Pacific Northwest community. Membership consists not only of Scandinavians, but people of many cultural backgrounds. The Swedish Club is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with the objective of promoting a better understanding between the United States and the Scandinavian countries, through learning, practicing and celebrating the culture and traditions of Scandinavia, with an emphasis on Sweden. Completed in 1961, the current building overlooks beautiful Lake Union and downtown Seattle, and is ideally located just a few minutes north of downtown Seattle.
The Swedish Club serves traditional Swedish food and drink two days per week. Wednesdays starting at 5:30p, we serve Swedish pea soup and Limpa bread. Every Friday we serve a classic yet modern Swedish lunch from 12p-2p and dinner from 6p-8p. Our monthly pancake breakfast is (usually) the first Sunday of every month from 9a - 1p. Music, of many genres, is also provided several times per month. Check our website for the latest info. We are also available for rentals of our many rooms and halls. Please visit our website for more information.
