Sunland Bark & Topsoil

Sunland Topsoils was started in 1974 by David Hay and his stepson Ed Little. They began creating topsoils using peat from a source on Whidbey Island and sandy loam from a pit up the hill from their location on Reservation Road. Beginning with one small dump truck and one rubber-tired loader, they gradually expanded their vision to include not only manufacturing a variety of soils, but the recycling of wood waste materials to be sold as soil amendments. To reflect this expanded scope, the business name was changed in 1984 to Sunland Bark and Topsoils. We Welcome Contractor Accounts and the Public.
