HistoryInitially started in the early 1950's, Northend Rental was then located on Leary Way in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle and was part of the AH Cox Rental Machinery Company. In 1983, Northend Rental was bought out by Dan Green, who had spent the previous 15 years as a factory sales rep for Greenlee Tool Co, producers of specialty equipment for electrical contractors. While with Greenlee, Dan noticed the lack of availability of the Greenlee-type equipment for rent. Once he took over Northend Rental, Dan started adding the electrical contracting equipment to the rental fleet. as well as offering custom pipe bending and threading services. In 1989, Northend acquired a Lynnwood location, which operated concurrently with Ballard for 5 years. Unfortunately, an economic down-turn forced Dan to close the Ballard branch and operate solely out of the Lynnwood location.
