Secretary of the Senate

The Secretary of the Senate's office is responsible for the overall management of various operations, including the administration of policies and procedures established by the Senate Facilities and Operations Committee. The office is a part of the Washington State Senate, which enacts laws and oversees their administration and works to protect and maintain the rights of individuals. Washington State Senate is organized into standing committees for the purpose of hearing, amending and passing bills. It maintains a senate committee services office that assists senators in developing and evaluating policy alternatives to achieve objectives. The office provides a variety of support services to staff members. Washington State Senate operates a human services and corrections committee that considers cases related to children and families, including foster care, dependency, child protection and welfare, and children and adult mental health issues.
