Sarah Pinney, MD

I am interested in supporting wellness and health for all children, both medically and holistically. As an undergraduate I studied health promotion and disease prevention, and I try to approach pediatrics from this lens and provide evidence-based care. More recently, I worked in a clinic geared towards teenagers and have enjoyed providing mental health and contraceptive support including Nexplanon implants. As a former pediatric hospitalist, I have a special place in my heart for medically complex patients.

I enjoy caring for children from infancy through adolescence. I believe communication and understanding are essential in developing lasting patient relationships. I explain available treatment options so families can make informed decisions. I focus on preventive care and encouraging children to live their healthiest lives. As a nurse, I felt that I was really making a difference, and I wanted to take that a step further as a nurse practitioner, a career that would allow me to learn every day and enhance my education. My goal with my patients is to maintain open communication, empathize and show compassion, work together to come to a solution, and be quick and timely in response to results and phone calls.
