History

After much anticipation, Rainier Valley Optometric opened its doors to great fanfare and celebration on July 31, 2004. Our vision was, and still is, to provide much needed eye care services to residents of Rainier Valley and the surrounding communities. From our humble beginnings, we have gone on to share our passion for caring with many of the citizens of King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. We are the premier eye care provider of southeast Seattle, and are very proud to serve such a diverse and multi-ethnic population. What we bring to our patients is a combined total of over 10 years experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision-related conditions.

In addition to helping detect the early signs of eye diseases such as cataracts, macular degeneration and glaucoma, a comprehensive eye health evaluation may even shed light on your overall general health. Undiagnosed medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and thyroid disease can affect vision and eye health. Because healthy eyes cannot be measured solely on how well you see, a comprehensive eye health evaluation is recommended at least once every other year. We also provide contact lens fittings, LASIK and cataract surgery referrals and co-management, emergency eye care, and a large optical gallery with an ophthalmic finishing lab.
