The Port Gamble S'klallam Tribe, originally known as the Nux SklaiYem, descends from the Salish people and has resided in the Puget Sound basin since 2400 BC. Established in the late 1930s, their reservation is located on the northern tip of the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington State, where approximately 1,400 members continue to thrive today.
