Orange Tea School

History

We originally opened in 2007 under the name Wellspring Preschool. When we moved from our Phinney Ridge location the students were asked to generate ideas for a new name for their school. Then they all voted and the name that won was Orange Tea School. We love it because it reflects the child-driven philosophy of our school and is fun and playful.

Specialties

At Orange Tea School, it starts with the heart! We believe that emotional intelligence is the foundation upon which all other intelligences are built and that preschool is the key time for instilling feelings of empowerment and empathy. Through imaginative play children naturally explore and practice these concepts on their own. Woven into our curriculum are tools and practices for expanding awareness and emotional resiliency. Rooted in the rich pedagogues of Waldorf and Montessori we branch out to include many cutting-edge modalities including Multiple Intelligences and EFT. Our child-led, integrated curriculum offers daily opportunities for small and large group activities with plenty of time for self directed play. Daily connection with nature is a core commitment in our program. Respect and responsibility for one's environment is a quality of joy to be inspired rather than a skill to be taught.
