Dr. Nels Sampatacos, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with extensive training and expertise in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and reconstructive surgery. After earning his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Dr. Sampatacos completed a rigorous general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Washington's Harborview Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in his final year. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in sports medicine and minimally invasive surgical techniques at the renowned Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in Van Nuys, California. Dr. Sampatacos specializes in minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures for the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle, along with shoulder replacement surgery.
