Dr. Hellyer graduated magna cum laude from Colorado College with a degree in biochemistry. She attended medical school at University of Colorado where she graduated with honors. She completed internal medicine residency and subspecialty training in medical oncology at Stanford Hospital. Dr. Hellyer is an expert in the treatment of lung cancer, including non-small cell and small cell lung cancers, mesothelioma, and thymic malignancies. She believes in tailoring treatment to each patient and using genetic data from patients’ tumors to help guide treatment. Dr. Hellyer has conducted extensive research into the molecular drivers of lung cancer and how that information can be used to personalize treatment for patients with lung cancer.

Dr. Thumma has an interest in thoracic malignancies with a special emphasis in breast cancer. She is a caring, compassionate person who relates well with her patients. Dr. Thumma actively participates in clinical research to ensure her patients have access to latest developments in the field.
