History
Mt. Spokane has an extensive and celebrated history. The mountain was the site for the world's first double chairlift - built by Riblet Tramway Company, and installed near the existing Chair 1, it lifted skiers to the summit of the mountain. In 1933 the Vista House was constructed at the summit by the Civilian Conservation Corps. It stands today, open on weekends & holidays with a fire and warm food for skiers & riders. The ski area itself has gone through several management operations to today's 501(c)3 non-profit group that runs the mountain with a family-friendly focus on value.
