Mount Vernon High School, founded in 1922, has an enrollment of more than 1,700 students in grades nine through 12. The school is affiliated with the Mount Vernon School District and offers a curriculum that includes language arts, social studies, science and technology, mathematics, foreign language, family and consumer science, and health and physical education. It provides various extracurricular activities to students, such as music, fine arts, dramatics, dance lessons and field trips. The school provides its students, networked computers and Internet access used for publishing essays, and learning and research activities.
