Gateway Middle School, located in Everett, Wash., is a public school in Everett School District. It offers classes to students in grades six through eight, and has an enrollment of more than 950 students. It provides an educational environment where students can discover and use their full potential, while studying at their own rate. It provides a comprehensive educational program, including core subjects, such as mathematics, language arts, computer applications, social studies, and science. Additionally, special courses are offered to all students, which include art, music and health and physical education. Community service projects are part of each grade. Gateway Middle School invites all students to take part in the student council and offers various sports, such as basketball, volleyball and track.

Founded in 1967, The Overlake School is an independent, non-sectarian, coeducational, college preparatory day school. It provides enrollment to more than 450 students in grades five through 12. The school is accredited by the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools and the Northwest Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities. It operates through various departments that include art, English, history, language, math, physical education, science and library. The school offers various cocurricular activities, such as athletics, band, choir, project week, community service, student government, drama productions, yearbook, literary magazine and diversity club. It also offers various outdoor programs that include sea kayaking, mountaineering, backpacking, whitewater rafting, snowshoeing and emergency medical technician training. The Overlake School is located in Redmond, Wash.
