Harriett McDonald opened McDonald Employment Services in 1955, in an office in the Shafer Building at 523 Pine Street, just across from Frederick and Nelson. McDonald Employment Services catered to Seattle families seeking the highest-quality Housekeepers, Cooks, Nannies and Companion care. George Vestal purchased the company in 1978 and kept the McDonald name along with the tradition of referring only the most experienced, professional personnel available.
