The Last Resort Fire Department in Seattle, WA is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and displaying classic antique motorized fire apparatus, with a focus on Seattle Fire Department history. Founded in 1969, the LRFD boasts the largest collection of antique fire engines and ladder trucks in the Pacific Northwest, including unique pieces such as Seattle's only Ahrens-Fox and various tillered aerials.
With a mission to keep the rich heritage of the fire service alive for future generations, the LRFD maintains a museum in Pioneer Square showcasing a portion of their collection, while their shop and maintenance facility in Ballard houses and restores over a dozen rigs dating from 1913 to 1969. Through parades, exhibits, and community events, the LRFD provides a nostalgic glimpse into the history of firefighting in the Seattle area.
