HistoryBlackberries Jubilee began in 2009 during a conversation between good friends, around a bottle of Yakima Valley wine. The Bardell's and Sharpe's decided to put our shared resources of agricultural expertise, finances and land into an adventure of growing gourmet Blackberries. We spent 6 months preparing our 1/2 acre of farm land, and researching and then lining up the purchase of plants, trellises and irrigation equipment. Our plants and trellises were in the ground by early May of 2010. We harvested a few hundred pounds that season and have been offering U-Pick each summer -selling over 2000 pounds per year.SpecialtiesBlackberries Jubilee sells gourmet blackberries. We have three varieties beginning in early July and continuing on through August and early September. We offer U-Pick (come pick your own) or we take orders to be picked up at a specified time and date. If you come for U-Pick, early mornings are best for the fruit (7a.m.-noon). Our blackberries are trellised and easy to pick for all ages. We supply a picking bucket and harnesses. You may bring your own containers or purchase 1 pound clam shells for $.25 a piece. Most people pick at least a bucket- around five pounds, in less than an hour.
