HistoryThe Chateau Westport was originally built as the Canterbury West by Dr. John E. Canterbury and his partner Jim Walker. Our units were sold as condominiums and at the time, the owner's could use their units at their discretion. In 1982, it was established that no owner could live on the premises and the property began to run strictly as a hotel, with owners required to make reservations just as our guests would.
