Hovander Homestead Park is an excellent public park in Ferndale. There's plenty of parking and much to do once on property. There's a playground, an old barn, a historic home, gardens, a lookout...

Lovely walk around the park. Flat-ish but dirt trail with a footbridge in one area. Closed right now for flooding repairs.
