Hearts & Hammers

South Whidbey Hearts Hammers is a local non-profit organization founded in 1994 by Lynn Willeford, dedicated to connecting South Whidbey residents with their neighbors-in-need. Through their annual Workday event, Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser, and H.E.A.R.T. program, they focus on building community on the island.

Hearts Hammers brings together a community of over 350 volunteers each year to repair and rehabilitate homes for those who are physically or financially unable to do the work themselves. With a mission to address health and safety concerns, volunteers provide a range of services from carpentry to yard cleanup, all at no cost to the homeowners.
