The Great Northern and Cascade Railway (GNCR) is a unique 501c3 organization created in 2012. The core mission of the organization is to preserve and educate the public regarding the rich Great Northern Railroad heritage of the Town of Skykomish and surrounding area. The GNCR organization maintains its own museum in the space they rent year round, on the south side of the BNSF railroad tracks, in the historic, Skykomish, 1898 Great Northern Railway train depot and operates a 1/8th scale railroad in Depot Park, Skykomish.

This is a fun place to visit. The volunteers are all very friendly and helpful, and the train rides are free. I always make a point of donating to them.
