C.C. Filson Company is a clothing company that was founded by a frontiersman who supplied clothing to gold miners participating in the Great Klondike Gold Rush of 1897. After homesteading in Nebraska and roaming the country as a railroad conductor, C.C. Filson, the founder of C.C. Filson Company, moved to Seattle in the 1890 where he started a clothing business. Filson's timing couldn't have been better. By 1897, the Great Klondike Gold Rush was on, and thousands of fortune hunters were stampeding into Seattle, headed north. Since its inception in 1897, the company diversified its merchandise and continued celebrating its frontiersman heritage. Headquartered in Seattle, the company maintains several stores throughout the Western United States, and sells tough, comfortable outdoor clothing for hunters, fishermen, engineers, explorers, mariners and miners.
