History

This place used to be known as Schouweiler gas and grocery, owned by 2 brothers they built it and ran it right and it became a place where people would be loyal to. During more recent years it fell into the wrong hands and was very much abused becoming known to many in the local area as a spot of illegal activities and certainly not safe to bring your family. Our family hails from Northern New York and happened upon this sad place when we moved down the road. We decided to take on the challenge of restoring the place and bring this city icon back to its full glory and more. We want people from the area to remember what it used to be and how far we have come to make it better. We are making the entire corner operational with a convienience store, car wash, full service shop, and parts store. Whether you are just passing through or have been local long enough to have a bad taste in your mouth when you think of the history, I hope that you will give Slate's Corner a chance.
