Everett Public Works oversees planning, organization and implementation of various types of maintenance projects. Located in Everett, Wash., the public works department provides a wide variety of services for civil and traffic engineering, sewers, streets, solid waste, fleet, storm drains, and recycling. Open Monday through Friday, the department s building services division provides maintenance and repair services for city-owned buildings, and offers technical support and assistance to departments in facility construction. It also provides printing services, and administers contracts for janitorial and elevator service and pest control. Maintaining a healthy infrastructure is necessary for enhancing our quality of life, and sustaining our community for years to come.Streets - The Street Division is responsible for maintaining all roads throughout the city to a safe, reliable and efficient condition. The division is also responsible for the maintenance crosswalks, sidewalks and wheelchair ramps assuring the safety of the pedestrian public. Programs include: sweeping, shoulder maintenance ( ditching, mowing, herbicide ), snow and ice removal, paving, pothole patching, striping, stop bars, and crosswalks.Solid Waste - The Solid Waste Division is responsible for the solid waste collection and disposal as well as the recycling program in the city.
