History

Early Music Guild (EMG) was formed in 1977 to foster historically-informed performance practices in Seattle. In its 40 year history, EMG has presented the world's best early music specialists like Jordi Savall, Gustav Leonhardt, and The English Concert. Seattle Baroque Orchestra (SBO) was one of the many Professional Affiliates EMG has fostered over the years and the two organizations merged in 2010. SBO, under the direction of Alexander Weimann, presents four artfully designed programs that highlight classic repertoire as well as lesser known works. Known as the leader of early music in Seattle, EMG presents concerts at Nordstrom Recital Hall in Benaroya Hall, the heart of downtown. Join us for a concert!
