The Douglas County Historical Society operates the Museum for the preservation of Douglas County history. We maintain a large rock and mineral collection with a variety of historical items that include unimaginable treasures. In our museum you can examine arrow and spear points from the Black Hawk war, hold a chunk of a meteorite, ponder a revolutionary war cannonball, or stare into the four eyes and four nostrils of a two headed calf! We are open from 11 AM until 5 PM between Memorial Day weekend and the last weekend in September. Call to arrange an off-season or group visit.
