Dinah Thyerlei, MD

My clinical focus spans preventive care, mental health, women's health, weight loss management and chronic disease management. I am passionate about cultivating a supportive environment where patients feel heard and valued. I chose a career in medicine to make a positive impact on people's lives and contribute to the well-being of others. I value connecting with diverse communities and ensure effective, culturally sensitive care. I strive to be compassionate, dedicated, and approachable.

Growing up, I saw loved ones treated poorly in the healthcare system. This inspired me to go into medicine to help improve it and better serve patients. I completed my Bachelor of Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I earned my Master of Science and physician assistant training at Western University of Health Sciences. My clinical focus is in internal and family medicine, with experience in pain medicine. I can perform joint, bursa, and trigger point injections for pain relief.

The patient-physician relationship is a partnership. I try to understand what my patients (and often their parents, too!) are experiencing. There are many different approaches to each situation. My job is to present different options and to come up with a plan that works for an individual and their family.
