Founded in 1939, Nespelem Valley Electric Cooperative (NVEC) is a nonprofit member cooperative serving approximately 1,500 homes, farms and businesses throughout Okanogan County. The company started its operation as one of the Bonneville Power Administration's first customers in 1941 with140 consumers. It supports a number of programs that include 4-H, youth basketball, Junior Rodeo, town clean-up, career days and job shadowing opportunities for kids.
