Chiquitos Childcare

History

It was always my dream to teach children. Growing up in such a large family there were a lot of children around and I have always had a natural love for them, especially gravitating towards the little ones. I arrived in Seattle in spring of 1986, and two weeks later I enrolled at North Seattle Community College to study teaching. While as a student, I worked as a nanny and I found it really rewarding to work with small children. The field of early childhood education was very new at the time, and it was very appealing to me. Four years latter I graduated with a Degree in Early Childhood Education, and in 1990 I opened my first childcare in Lynnwood. I called it Chiquitos, this word in Spanish means little ones. In 1993 My husband and I relocated our family to Seattle, and reopened Chiquitos here in Magnolia. We have been offering high quality childcare in the neighborhood ever since.

Specialties

Chiquitos Billingual Childcare & Preschool Center specializes in Spanish immersion learning and childcare services. We are a small program that offers a high standard of learning instruction in a family environment, with individual attention given to each child. We offer highly nutritious meals. Established in 1993, we have been offering quality childcare for over 20 years. We believe that each child has innate social, physical, and intellectual talents, which can be cultivated by an environment in which they are loved, respected and encouraged to explore the world and allowed to grow in social grace, inner discipline, and joy.
