History
The Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast is a historic 1910 farmhouse that was first converted into a bed and breakfast in 1984 for about 7 years. It was sold and became a private residence until 2001. From 2001 to 2004, it was on-loan to UC Davis for scientists working with the Sea-Doc Society. When the current owners bought it in 2005, they were able to get the permit reissued for a bed and breakfast. Since the island residents called it the Blue Heron, the owners kept the name and it has become a very successful, lodging located on beautiful West Sound Bay, Orcas Island, WA.
